Jingnan Liu is a Postdoctoral Associate in the MIT Sloan Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE) and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. In fall 2025, she will become an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Her research focuses on the labor market and economic growth. She studies the inventor labor market and how the labor market impacts economic growth. Further, she seeks to understand AI’s impacts on labor, innovation, and productivity.

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. from the Renmin University of China.
