Sebastian is a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, where his research focuses on robotics and AI with particular emphasis on neural scaling laws. Beyond the technical aspects of his work, he is deeply interested in the broader economic, safety, and societal implications of AI and robotics. Prior to MIT, Sebastian was part of the Management Team at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich, completed his Master's degree in Management & Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), spent a semester abroad at UC Berkeley and earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Bayreuth. If you catch him outside of work, he's an adventurous traveler, a casual volleyball player, runner, cyclist and skier.
