J. Desire Abayo is a math and tech driven researcher passionate about applying data and algorithms to understand complex real-world systems. Before joining MIT FutureTech, he worked with several MIT labs, including the Center for Research on Equitable and Open Scholarship, where he built a data pipeline to extract, clean, and analyze patterns of equity in scholarly publications. His earlier experience in math Olympiad also equipped him with creativity in problem solving -- a mindset he now applies to research and engineering. Beyond academia, Desire has contributed to industry projects such as improving Google Gemini’s performance through Mercor Inc., bridging his academic curiosity with impactful, technology driven applications.
